Microneedling
Controlled Micro-Injury That Triggers Real Repair
What It Is
Microneedling uses a medical-grade device fitted with fine, sterile needles to create thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These tiny punctures trigger your body’s natural wound-healing response, stimulating new collagen and elastin production without damaging the surrounding tissue. It is also known as collagen induction therapy.
What It Does
Skin texture becomes smoother, pores appear smaller, fine lines soften, and scarring visibly improves as new collagen remodels the treated area over the following weeks and months. The micro-channels created during treatment also allow far greater absorption of topical products, making microneedling an effective delivery platform for treatments like PRP and exosomes.
The Approach
A typical course involves three to five sessions spaced three to four weeks apart, depending on the concern being treated. Needle depth is adjusted based on the area and condition. Results build cumulatively with each session, and Dr Etok will tailor the protocol to your skin’s specific needs and goals.
Is Microneedling Right For You?
Microneedling suits clients who want to improve skin texture, reduce scarring, or refine pores through a treatment that works with the skin’s natural repair processes. It is one of the safest resurfacing options available for all skin types, including darker tones where lasers and chemical peels carry a higher risk of pigmentation changes. If you are looking for immediate dramatic results from a single session, this is not the right fit. Microneedling rewards commitment to a course of treatment and delivers its best results over time.
Precision Needling That Triggers Collagen From Within
A topical numbing cream is applied around 20 to 30 minutes before the procedure. The microneedling device is then passed across the treatment area, creating thousands of precise micro-punctures at a controlled depth. Needle depth is adjusted based on the area being treated and the condition being addressed, from shallow passes for general skin quality to deeper settings for scarring. The procedure typically takes 30 to 45 minutes.
Immediately after treatment, the skin appears red and may feel warm, similar to mild sunburn. This typically settles within 24 to 48 hours. If PRP or exosomes are being applied alongside microneedling, they are introduced immediately after the needling while the micro-channels remain open, maximising absorption. Results develop gradually as collagen remodels over the following weeks and months, with visible improvements building across the course.
